The Truth About Furniture (What 'They' Don't Want You To Know')

What do these (and many other) "Name Brands" have in common? (Lane, Broyhill, Thomasville, Drexel Heritage, Maitland-Smith, Bassett, Bernhardt) They're all familiar sounding brands that are, in reality, simply names stamped on made in Malaysa, Viet Nam, and, if you're lucky, mainland China! Buyers go to these countries, buy in bulk, and the furniture arrives in the USA on big container ships.

Many other manufacturers, such as La-Z-Boy, Berkline, and FlexSteel include stock that is manufactured overseas, but still sold with the name brand - often, the foreign made piece is what is being offered at that great "SALE" price - which is why custom or non-stocked versions cost so much more!

Warranties speak louder than prices - What good is saving a few bucks if you have to buy new furniture within a year? Service after the sale is more important than glossy presentations, cookies and coffee, 'free' babysitting, and escalator rides - There's no way to offer the lowest price, best quality, best warranties AND have lots of tv advertising, fancy showrooms, and highly commissioned sales people! Manufacturers don't suggest retail prices! There is no such thing as MSRP in the furniture business! The "reference" or "compare at" pricing is simply a made up number. We could do the same thing, except it's not exactly honest - how can you actually compare the "comparison" price if no store actually sells things at that inflated price? We prefer to simply give a price, an honest price, and know we're usually far lower - in fact, we guarantee to be lower than any other store's published pricing!
